KPMG is currently seeking an Experienced Assistant Counsel to join our Ethics and Compliance organization’s Investigations Division.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting and managing internal investigations, including developing an investigative plan; conducting interviews of witnesses and investigative subjects as well as reviewing and analyzing relevant data
  • Drafting and reviewing clear and concise investigative reports including other documentation for Firm leadership
  • Reviewing case reports as part of investigation including quality review processes and protocols
  • Coordinating with and providing advice to Firm leadership and management in connection with investigations, special projects and strategic initiatives
  • Assisting in the development of investigations policies and processes
  • Educating and providing guidance to Firm personnel on Firm policies and compliance-related issues

Qualifications:

  • Minimum six years of legal experience handling internal investigations, complex litigation matters, and/or compliance issues in a leading law firm, large corporate environment or the federal government
  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited college/university
  • Extensive investigatory experience
  • Highly motivated individual with strong attention to detail, who is organized and able to work independently handling a variety of high-level and time-sensitive matters
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills; ability to convey complex facts, circumstances and evidence in a manner that is easily understandable by a variety of audiences
  • Sound judgment and the ability to work collaboratively, with individuals in multiple groups at all levels of the Firm
  • Ability to demonstrate a committment to driving diversity, equity and inclusion at the group, enterprise, industry or community level.
