KPMG is currently seeking an Associate to join our Federal Advisory practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand / support complex financial data processes to perform data analysis, review reporting logic, and trace data lineage / sources
  • Support client's audit readiness capabilities through financial reporting and financial data analysis / management
  • Generate monthly and quarterly reconciliations to be submitted to Independent Public Auditor, and provide data analysis / insights
  • Conduct data analysis to identify root cause of data discrepancies that lead to logic and data transformation updates required in ETL or reporting logic

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of one year of federal financial management / data analytics experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline from an accredited college/university; CPA / CGFM / CDFM certification preferred
  • Familiarity with Federal Financial management including any of the following:  financial reporting, federal accounting, auditing, audit readiness, or general ledger / financial systems
  • Experience with data warehousing concepts, relational databases, structures and Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) best practices in a finance, operations, or enterprise environment
  • Proficiency with SQL to produce ad-hoc queries 
  • Experience in the preparation, review, and/or analysis of financial statements for U.S. Federal government entities; working knowledge of the USSGL preferred
  • Ability to travel as required to support firm engagements
  • U.S. citizenship required and an active U.S. Federal government Secret security clearance
