Historically, the travel requirement for this position has ranged from 80-100%. For now, all KPMG business travel, international and domestic, is currently restricted to client-essential sales/delivery activity only. KPMG is currently seeking a Director State and Local-Virginia in Customer & Operations for our Consulting practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and deliver large, complex public sector/state/local government engagements that identify, design and implement creative business and technology services for state/local government clients
  • Manage a portfolio of projects, with a focus on stakeholder management, project/program management, as well as experience with both agile, waterfall and other approaches
  • Manage all workstream leads and set clear expectations and project outcomes; monitor and track progress and identify risks and challenges in a timely manner along with the ability to develop and lead the strategic approach and direction of new projects, with a strong understanding of technology enabling tools and products
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Senior Leaders, Agency heads, procurement leads Senior Management at state/local government agencies, positioning self and the firm for opportunities to generate new business
  • Manage contract compliance and associated processes related to sub-contractors, state-wide contract vehicles and procurement while establishing standards by which deliverables including RFP and RFI development will be measured, understand the process used to create the deliverables, review deliverables against established standards and identify gaps and root causes
  • Evaluate risks related to requirements management, business process definition, testing processes, internal controls, project communications, training and organizational change management coupled with the strategy side of the business

Qualifications:

  • Minimum eight years of recent experience during the system and/or user acceptance testing planning or execution of a health and human services engagement in a team environment
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university preferably in business, human services, management information systems, computer science, or public policy
  • Proven experience with application development, system evaluations and support for health and human services, including unemployment, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, Medicaid Management Information Systems and child services Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information Systems
  • Demonstrated ability to identify business opportunities, lead project engagements, attract new business and build lasting professional relationships with senior client executives and proven success meeting and exceeding multi-million dollar business development and managed revenue targets along with applied experience related to enterprise architecture and service oriented architecture
  • Travel may be up to 80-100%
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future
