KPMG is currently seeking an Senior Associate in Risk Strategy & Compliance - Forensics for our Risk Advisory Solutions practice.


  • Assist a variety of financial institutions in addressing Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)/sanctions compliance matters
  • Maintain an awareness of current market place issues and stay up-to-date with emerging regulatory requirements and guidance
  • Apply data science methods, processes and algorithms towards use-cases within Financial Crime applications by creating examples, prototypes and demonstrations to help management better understand concepts and theories as well as process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis
  • Ability to select features, build and optimize classifiers using machine learning techniques; use data mining methods for pattern discovery, clustering; and use applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.
  • Ability to apply the appropriate tests or algorithms to the problem and measure its performance.
  • Assist with the design and development of monitoring reports and dashboards, and assist management with testing enhancements to the monitoring program including KPIs, and KRIs.


  • A minimum of one year of consulting or financial crimes and compliance experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Math or a related quantitative field of study; MBA or MS from an accredited college/university is preferred.
  • Experience in capturing, analyzing, and documenting requirements, process flows; handling large data sets; familiarity with data cleansing and ETL methodologies and processes
  • Excellent writing abilities across various deliverable formats including reports and presentations as well as strong experience in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Proficiency in databases such as SQL, Oracle, and DB2 is preferred and proficient in one or more analytical tools such as R, Python, SAS, SPSSor Matlab
  • Experience in the concepts of statistical inference such as hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, probability, ANOVA, Chi-Square, etc.
  • Ability to travel as necessary
