KPMG is currently seeking a Manager to join our Federal Advisory practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide financial management support including audit support services to the Department of Veterans Affairs 
  • Re-mediating audit findings, designing internal control procedures, documenting key control environments, providing review of documentations provided to the external auditors and advising the VA on audit related matters 
  • Provide knowledge and applied experience with federal financial statement audits
  • Document and evaluate internal control environments including process narratives, flowcharts, and identification of key controls
  • Lead and document process area walk throughs and accounting for reimbursable Activity/Interagency Agreements 

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in government financial management, focusing on Federal financial reporting and/or auditing in accordance with Office of Management and Budget guidance, Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board standards, and Government Accountability Office Yellow Book
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline from an accredited college/university; MBA or a relevant Master's degree from an accredited university, CPA required, and/or CGFM or CDFM certifications preferred
  • Working knowledge of Statements of Federal Financial Accounting Standards (SFFAS) and United States Standards General Ledger (USSGL). 
  • Experience in internal controls, business process analysis, and business systems, and working knowledge of the United States Standard General Ledger and/or SAP experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of business processes, project management methodologies, and leading practices
  • Ability to travel as required to support firm engagements
  • U.S. citizenship required and the ability to obtain a U.S. Federal government security clearance within a reasonable period of time
