KPMG is currently seeking a Director, IT Systems of Internal Control (ITSIC) to join our Digital Nexus technology organization.


  • Strategic and proactive responsibility to develop and implement programs that support effective risk and compliance management in the first line of defense, ensuring risks associated with IT and business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled
  • Direct staff and initiatives that support risk and control management programs to include governance support, risk oversight, risk infrastructure development, risk identification, quantification, aggregation, and emerging risks
  • Partner with internal and external clients and key stakeholders in the federated technology and business units regarding new product strategies; oversee the identification, assessment and documentation of risks and controls including risks associated with new or modified products, services, distribution channels, regulations and/or third-party operations
  • Review, communicate and recommend the development of governance policies and procedures in partnership with senior leaders to ensure appropriateness and adequacy versus industry best practices and regulatory requirements, influencing process change
  • Educate risk owners on risk/control best practices and work with other lines of defense in the development and implementation of controls while overseeing the preparation of key reports and communications for presentation to governance committees, senior leaders, regulatory bodies and KPMG’s Operations Committees
  • Direct analysis and data mining initiatives that identify, validate, and manage emerging risk exposures while assisting in the early identification of risk trends by establishing and monitoring key performance and risk indicators


  • A minimum of ten years of recent experience supporting risk and compliance related activities in a Financial Services and/or highly matrixed operating environment
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university; Master's degree preferred
  • Experience and ability to formulate a strategic view, including the cost effectiveness benefit of security initiatives in the context of overall business risk mitigation and the company’s operational objectives
  • Prior knowledge in full lifecycle project management with these critical investigative skills: inquiry and analysis, interviewing, testing, organization and presentation (both written and oral), with the ability to research and resolve issues independently
  • Strong leadership skills with clear and consistent messaging to effectively delineate the purpose of the information security program
  • Excellent verbal/written communication, collaboration, presentation and negotiation skills to lead an environment driven by customer service and team work
