KPMG is currently seeking an Associate Director, Data Operations – Enterprise Data Lake to join our Digital Nexus technology organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in defining strategy and execute on application of data lake harmonization by providing connectivity between on-prem or cloud data stores and business intelligence tools
  • Oversee the implementation of the appropriate governance structure to prescribe data handling, protection, and user provisioning controls; move data between zone-based containers to include raw, harmonized, enriched, curated, analytic, and training zones
  • Transform data to make it fit for a purpose and protected; accountable for delivering data to spec for the Data Solutions team
  • Administer operational activities related to data management such as metadata capture, data quality, data security, data lineage, data inventory; integrate data and metadata with enterprise tools
  • Provide leadership and direction to team and peers on relevant processes and implementations
  • Develop and implement operational processes that align with the overall information handling and protection strategy, including planning, execution and monitoring responsibilities

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of eight years of experience in enabling big data platforms, database architectural strategies, models for applications, metadata tables, data transformation
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university
  • Strong experience with (in order of importance) Cloudera, Azure, AWS, GCP and the enterprise tools they interact with (e.g. Salesforce, Informatica)
  • Experience with API development, as well as with programming and developing scripts or leveraging tools to extract, transform, and load data in big data platforms; experience working on relational database management systems
  • Excellent verbal/written communication, collaboration, analytical and presentation skills to lead an environment driven by customer service and team work, able to set goals and participate in strategic initiatives for a team; foster the development of high performance teams and interface with all levels of the organization with the ability to participate in development of resource plans and structures and influence organizational priorities
  • U.S. Citizenship required
