KPMG is currently seeking an Assistant Counsel, Legal and Compliance to join our Legal, Risk and Regulatory organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and conduct internal investigations, working with the CCO (Chief Compliance Officer) to develop and execute the Firm’s compliance strategy and protocols
  • Draft and review investigative reports and other documentation in preparation for review by Firm leadership
  • Identify ethics and compliance issues and trends, and develop policy proposals and other strategies to address them
  • Coordinate with and provide advice to Firm management in connection with investigations, special projects and strategic initiatives
  • Educate Firm personnel on compliance-related issues and provide advice and guidance on Firm training relating to ethics and compliance issues

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of seven years legal experience handling internal investigations and/or complex litigation matters in a leading law firm or large corporate environment 
  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited college or university
  • Extensive investigatory experience 
  • Ability to work independently handling a variety of high-level activities 
  • Excellent writing and editing skills 
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and work collaboratively with individuals in multiple groups at all levels of the firm
